There are several sky bars in Bangkok. Rumor has it, there is no other city which offers as many as the capital of Thailand. Here is a link with the top 20 in case this piece isn’t convincing enough to simply choose Octave.
First reason, it has several floors of sky bars. On the 45th dinner is served at tables located directly at a glass wall on the edge of the building. The food is fairly priced from a european point of view and tasty! On the other hand don’t expect it to be as cheap as your run down take away joint in Khao San Rd. Whereas a certain attire is required with some of the other bars, Marriott apparently doesn’t care that much. I went there in jeans with leather sandals and a collared shirt and nobody seemed to care.
Second reason are the other floors. Once dinner is finished, the top floor is the place to be. It is literally on the top of the skyscraper with glass walls surrounding the enlightened bar. The view is amazing, nothing stands in your way. It’s really full 360!
Third reason is, it stands for itself. You don’t need a movie to be famous!
A multi-zone outlet that features a lounge, a private room and a 360º view rooftop bar, the last being the signature space. Octave is the bar that brings to life the sounds, sights and skyline of the city every night. The comfortable and colourful setting, starting on the 45th floor and only heads higher, is home to live DJs and in-the-know crowds. Showcasing new-age fusion food such as Asian-style tapas platters and a seafood bar along with the finest in wines and cocktails.
